Abstract

This research aims to identify the level of psychological well-being among female students at the Faculty of Education, Al-Zaytuna University, and to study the impact of some demographic variables, such as academic specialization and year of study, on this level. The researcher used the descriptive-analytical method, and the study sample consisted of (289) female students in the humanities and (50) female students in the applied sciences. The researcher used the Psychological Well-being Scale by Raif, translated by Badr Muhammad Al-Ansari. The overall mean score for psychological well-being was low (101.05 compared to the hypothetical mean). All sub-dimensions of psychological well-being were lower than the hypothetical mean, indicating a low level of psychological well-being among the university students. The results confirmed the absence of statistically significant differences in psychological well-being or its dimensions according to specialization, indicating a similarity in the level between specializations. The research results also indicated the absence of statistically significant differences in the level of psychological well-being or its dimensions according to year of study, indicating a similarity in the level among students across different years.
