Abstract

This study investigates third year Libyan student’s implicit knowledge of the English grammar. In this research, a quantitative approach was taken and a proficiency test was administered over to 40 students in the English Department at Benghazi University. The results discovered that the participants demonstrated limited knowledge in implicit grammar. The findings highlight the need for instructional practices that strengthen students' ability to apply grammatical knowledge effectively.
