Abstract

This research aims to study partial differential equations, specifically the one-dimensional and two-dimensional wave equation and the Schrödinger equation. The study relies on the method of separation of variables as well as the Fourier transform as main tools for obtaining and analyzing solutions. It also presents some basic concepts related to Fourier series and Fourier transforms in order to illustrate how solutions can be rep- resented in a simplified mathematical form that helps in understanding the behavior of these equations
