Abstract

Security institutions in Bani Waleed are considered among the most important service-oriented bodies that play a vital role in serving citizens in particular and supporting other public institutions in general. In addition, they contribute significantly to the protection of the natural environment in the region. This role is evident through their support of the General Services Company for cleaning, which represents a fundamental pillar in safeguarding the environment from pollution hazards. Various security institutions particularly the security directorates and their branches, as well as the Agricultural Police play a prominent role in protecting the natural environment. Their efforts include reducing illegal tree-cutting activities across the valleys of the study area, enforcing penalties against violators, and combating desertification in its various forms. These efforts are further supported by continuous afforestation initiatives in different parts of the region and by promoting environmental awareness among residents to encourage the preservation of the natural environment. Such actions contribute to maintaining the hydrological cycle and preventing the loss of biodiversity across the region’s valleys.
