Abstract

This study explores the role of local decentralization in achieving sustainable development, identifying the contributing factors to its success and the challenges it faces. Using a comprehensive social survey approach, the study targets 67 individuals, including employees of the Zliten Municipal Council. A questionnaire is used to collect data from the study population. The results highlight the positive impact of local decentralization on achieving sustainable development locally. The study also reveals several challenges facing the implementation of local decentralization, most notably political challenges, followed by economic and social challenges.
