Contemporary architecture and interior design have undergone a radical transformation towards adopting smart and sustainable materials. These materials not only meet technical construction needs but also create unique visual and architectural experiences that benefit both the space and its users.
Transparent concrete represents an innovative and promising material in contemporary interior design. It combines the robust structural properties of concrete with the unique ability to transmit light through embedded optical fibers.
The integration of transparent concrete into interior design projects represents a qualitative leap in architectural design and enhances designers' ability to create solutions that combine beauty, sustainability, and technology.
Transparent concrete (light-transmitting concrete) is one of the most prominent innovative revolutions in this field. It has successfully broken the conventional image of traditional concrete as an opaque, heavy, and cold material, transforming it into a dynamic and vibrant element that combines massive strength with the poetic permeability of light. This research aims to study the mechanisms for employing this innovative material in contemporary interior spaces, exploring how to achieve a precise balance between its high mechanical durability and aesthetic value, while also examining its environmental and psychological impact within buildings.
The theoretical study revealed that this material contributes to:
1) Improving the quality of natural lighting within the building, thereby enhancing user comfort and functional performance.
2) Creating a modern and visually distinctive interior environment that reflects the organization's identity and reinforces its image to clients and visitors.
3) Supporting sustainable design principles by reducing electricity consumption for lighting.
4) Achieving a balance between transparency and privacy within the work environment.
5) Achieving an ideal balance between structural efficiency (durability) and aesthetic value (light transmittance).
