Abstract

L-proline was used as a key starting material for the synthesis of several hydrazone derivatives. This was achieved by using (phthalic anhydride, maleic anhydride ,glycolic acid , thioglycolic acid and sodium azide) to get five and seven-membered ring heterocycles. The structure of the synthesized compounds was confirmed by FT-IR and 1H-NMR spectroscopy as well as measuring the melting points for the synthesized compounds. The biological assay for the prepared compounds was also achieved against two types of bacterial strains, Gram-positive and Gram- negative.
