In his book, "Sabk al-Manzum wa-Fak al-Makhtum," Ibn Malik mentioned a number of issues on which he disagreed with grammarians. Ibn Malik may have agreed with the Kufians on these controversial issues, favored their opinion, leaned toward them, or disagreed with one of them. He did the same with the Basrans.
We have listed eleven issues on which Ibn Malik disagreed with the Kufian school in his book, "Sabk al-Manzum wa-Fak al-Makhtum." They are explained below:

One of the issues on which Ibn Malik disagreed with the Kufians in his book, "Sabk al-Manzum wa-Fak al-Makhtum," is the addition of "man." Ibn Malik says, "Do not add "man" in opposition to the Kufians." The explanation of this issue is as follows:
Grammarians differed on the issue of adding (man) into two schools of thought:
The first school of thought: the permissibility of adding (man), which is the school of thought of Al-Kisa’i, attributed to him by Ibn Asfour, Ibn Malik, Ibn Al-Shajari, Abu Hayyan, Ibn Aqil, Ibn Hisham, and Al-Suyuti. Some of them transmitted this school of thought from the Kufians, as Ibn Malik did in his book, “Sabk Al-Manzum Wa Fak Al-Makhtum.”
