Evaluation of school buildings to achieve institutional excellence of public secondary schools in Misurata

The aim of this research was to evaluate school buildings (school building equipment, administrative services, general services, student activities, and school security and safety) to achieve institutional excellence from the perspective of government secondary school principals. It was also to determine whether there were statistically significant differences in the evaluation of school buildings to achieve institutional excellence attributable to variables (gender, qualifications, building age, and number of building maintenance visits). The research used a descriptive approach, and the research sample consisted of all (44) government secondary school principals in Misurata. A questionnaire was used as a tool for data collection.

The level of (general services and student activities) to achieve institutional excellence, from the perspective of principals of public secondary schools in Misurata, was low. The level of (school building equipment - ensuring school security and safety) to achieve institutional excellence, from the perspective of principals of public secondary schools in Misurata, was average. The level of administrative services to achieve institutional excellence, from the perspective of principals of public secondary schools in Misurata, was high. There were no statistically significant differences at the significance level of (0.05) in the evaluation of school buildings for achieving institutional excellence attributable to the variables (gender, academic qualification, building age, and number of building maintenance visits).
