يبدأ النص بالثناء على الله والصلاة على النبي محمد وآله وصحبه، ثم يتناول أهمية الفعل في اللغة العربية، حيث يُعتبر عنصرًا أساسيًا في تكوين الجمل، ويأتي في المرتبة الثانية بعد الاسم في تقسيم الكلمة العربية. وقد درس النحاة واللغويون الفعل من جوانب متعددة، مثل معناه ودلالته وأقسامه، لكن الزمن النحوي في الفعل لا يزال بحاجة إلى مزيد من البحث والتنقيح.
