The Development of Medicine in Early Islamggg The Era of Prophethood and the Rightly-Guided Caliphate
الملخص
The journey of human civilization has always been characterized by innovation, discovery, and development of various types of knowledge and sciences, all with the goal of serving humanity. There is no doubt that the development of science, particularly medicine, has had a significant impact on human life due to its need for such knowledge. Unlike most ancient sciences, medicine was not an invention of Arab Muslims; rather, it was a product of pre-Islamic civilizations. Here are a number of questions that the researcher believes should be included as an introduction to this research: What was the status of medicine in early Islamic society during the Prophetic and Rashidun eras? How did the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) address medical and health issues? What was the role of prophetic medicine in shaping the Islamic view of medical science? What were the sources of medical knowledge that Muslims relied on during that era, and who were its most famous doctors? During the era of our Master Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) and the beginning of the Islamic call, the term "prophetic medicine" was frequently mentioned. Islam emphasized prevention before treatment. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) recommended cleanliness and used natural remedies, such as honey, cupping, and others. Was it truly practical medicine? Or was it merely advice on public health? What new developments occurred in medicine during this period? These questions constitute the foundations that the researcher believes should be used as research points for this chapter to support the main title. This historical study is not lacking in a historical past that sheds light on the extent of Arab knowledge of medicine and the extent of their contribution to its development.
