An analytical study of the manifestations of visual pollution for The main street in the city of Al-Khoms - Libya)
Abstract
The problem of visual pollution is one of the most important problems facing Libyan cities today for many reasons that have brought many specialists in many fields to study and extract their most important causes and how to treat them and overcome the difficulties to make the urban environment of cities more in line with the occupants of the place and to end the problems of such pollution that affects the aesthetic and visual image of the city and the loss of architectural identity.
This study comes to monitor the manifestations of visual pollution and investigate its manifestations in the most important areas of downtown Al-Khoms and measure people's awareness of it through a questionnaire survey of users of this place where (120) questionnaires were distributed to a random sample of the general public to find out their opinions and awareness of the problem s mental health by losing a sense of beauty and place and becoming accustomed to and accepting images of these manifestations.
The researcher adopted a descriptive and analytical approach to collect information on what is visual pollution and on the region and then conducted a questionnaire to obtain data that helps test the study's hypotheses on the subject of the study. He designed a questionnaire form, and to verify the authenticity of the questionnaire form, the researcher used appropriate tests for the research assumptions and the nature of the data available in the statistical analysis program. (SPSS), where it was found through questionnaire forms that the visual contamination of the place was aggravated and the study sample was affected by dissatisfaction and acceptance.
The study concluded a series of conclusions and recommendations that could contribute to improving the aesthetic image of the place and prevent the spread of phenomena that help to spread visual pollution such as enforcing laws and raising people's awareness of the damage of this type of pollution.
